Bartlett runs its own Code Enforcement office at 901-385-6425, and that is the first thing separating a Bartlett roof from one four miles west in unincorporated Shelby County. The county's own code says its building regulations reach only the unincorporated areas, so the Mullins Station Road counter is not your counter here.

The city's Official Building Codes page lists the International Building Code at 2021, the International Residential Code at 2018 and the Existing Building Code at 2021, under a heading that reads effective November 14, 2018.
